You know... I wasn't going to put anything political or centered around the election in my journal. I had promised myself that I wouldn't voice opinions or lapse into rhetoric about this or that candidate.

Yet... I have to say this much. If old phrases are going to make people get their back up that quickly, then people need to get the sticks out of their asses and deal. Geezus.

There's more important issues out there than getting all self-righteous over a phrase that, albeit not in my lexicon, has been around for a long time.

Without starting a debate in someone else's journal, I might posit that what girls do at seventeen could have a lot to do with issues when, as a party, one touts "abstinence-only education" and casts oneself as the leaders in "family values"...
