Mother Nature pulled a nasty trick on me in the four hours I was sleeping.
Went to bed, less than two inches on everything outside. Snow was faint if there at all and it wasn't windy. My commute this morning looked easy.
Wake up at 4, putter around the house hearing wind, go to look outside and stare. Snowfall's up to at least 4-5, maybe 6 inches. Coming down fast and steady with a wind behind it. Winter Storm Warning on my weather desktop thing. Says that we're likely to see a snowfall rate of up to two inches per hour and blizzard-like road conditions.
I haven't called to see what's up with work, yet. I will probably unearth the car and try to, cautiously, go to work. :P I'm so effing dedicated to this job I hate.
EDIT: After getting a quarter of the car cleaned off and near-freezing my fingertips off, I came in to call out. I hadn't even pulled up to see who was running the job when someone from HR called and told me the job was cancelled.
Would've been nice to know that HALF AN HOUR AGO!
